Job summary

WSP is seeking a Rail CAD/BIM Engineer to join our Rail Civil Engineering team in Leeds (with offices in other UK locations). You will produce and check 2D/3D models, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to bid opportunities while mentoring junior staff and ensuring QA of drawings.

You will work within a multi-disciplinary environment, using MicroStation and ProjectWise, and align with WSP SHEW policies. A strong UK rail background is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to produce accurate 2D rail-civils drawings to UK standards.
• Experience developing and checking 2D and 3D models for multidisciplinary rail projects.
• Familiar with applying CAD QA processes and structured drawing checks.
• Able to work from survey data, topographical information and other discipline inputs.
• Experience managing full CAD lifecycle from site data to drawing QA.

Responsibilities

• The production of engineering CAD deliverables using various CAD based tools, predominantly Bentley products.
• Prepare drawings with the correct level of detail for the required design stage, from feasibility through to detailed design.
• Competently structure CAD designs and ensure compliance with CAD standards.
• Maintain Data Management Systems and comply with system standards.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary design and integrate other designs into their own.
• Liaise with colleagues, other departments and project teams regarding drawing requirements.
• Provide the Project Engineering Team with CAD & Design support throughout the project.
• Ensure drawings are stored, issued and archived per company procedures.
• Record time spent on chargeable work and maintain adequate records.
• Mentor junior staff and assist with storage and archiving tasks.
• Adhere to WSP Health, Safety and Wellbeing policies.
