Job summary

The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a General Radiologist with an interest in paediatric radiology. The split between general and paediatric imaging work will be flexible to address experience and career aspirations.

The successful candidate will join a 33-consultant team and contribute to the second on-call 1:11 general radiology service. The department provides MRI, CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and more across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register (or within 6 months of CCT at interview).
• FRCR qualification.
• Desirable: wide medical or surgical experience.
• Desirable: post graduate medical qualification.
• Subspecialty training in Paediatric Imaging.
• Emergency and general Radiology competence.
• Ability to contribute to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education activity.

Responsibilities

• Provide general elective and emergency radiology services to the Trust.
• Support and ensure the efficient functioning of the Clinical Imaging department and service.
• Out-of-hours responsibilities, including weekend working and participation in the Consultant on-call rota.
• Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.
• Participation in medical audit, CPD and Clinical Governance processes.
• Managerial responsibilities where appropriate.
• To comply with IR(ME)R 2000.
