Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Radiographer to join the IR/Cath Lab team across Arrowe Park Hospital and related sites. The role involves covering IR/C.Lab and plain imaging, with on-call 24/7 rota or Mon-Fri hours, and opportunities to contribute to QA and CPD.

The successful radiographer will lead on-call IR/CL duties, support and develop junior staff, participate in 24/7 service delivery, and help drive service improvements within a busy radiology

Qualifications

• BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or DCR Equivalent.
• HCPC Registered.
• Ability to participate in 24/7 rosters and flexible approach.
• Minimum of 18 months experience post qualification as a band 5 or above.
• Experience of supporting and teaching junior staff and undergraduate student radiographers.
• Experience of taking the lead role and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Work within IR/CL and rotate through ED, MSK clinics, GP clinics IP/OP’s, theatres, dentals and provide portable service to wards and critical care departments.
• When working within plain film, act as senior and as a co-ordinator to ensure effective and efficient running of the service to meet the demand and be responsible for facilitating any changes to improve the service.
• You will report to the Principal Radiographer’s for Plain Imaging and IR/CL and liaise with them on a regular basis, escalating any issues and problems, and devising and implementing solutions.
• You need to have excellent communication with stakeholders both internal and external to ensure the service meets the varying demands.
• You will be responsible for the training and development of the radiographic staff and contributing to their CPD.
• You will participate in the QA programme for the plain imaging service.
