Aintree University Hospital is seeking a Band 6 radiographer to supervise the radiology department, teach students, and support day-to-day running of the X-ray service. The role involves multi-site work across hospital and community sites, with out-of-hours duty requirements.

Ideally, you will hold HCPC registration, a radiography degree, and post-graduate experience in acute settings, with strong team leadership and safety compliance abilities.

Qualifications

• BSc or degree in radiography.
• Registered HCPC is required.
• Post-graduation experience, some in acute hospital.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating teams.
• Ability to work across multiple sites and participate in out-of-hours duties.

Responsabilités

• Provide first-line supervision of radiographic work in the department.
• Coordinate the clinical team and supervise imaging examinations.
• Teach and assess student radiographers in imaging and interpretation.
• Support Band 7 Lead Radiographers with daily running of the X-ray department.
• Develop Band 5 radiographers and assistants while ensuring protocol compliance.
• Act as IR(ME)R Operator and follow procedures.
• Ensure QA, maintenance, and breakdowns are documented.
• Deputise for the Principal Radiographer when required.
• Verify imaging requests against guidelines and escalate gaps.
