Job summary

Benenden Hospital is seeking an experienced Flexi-Bank Senior Radiographer to join our Imaging Department. The role provides senior clinical support, leadership, and expert radiographic practice to ensure safe, effective, patient-focused diagnostic imaging services in line with departmental standards.

You will work with the Imaging Manager and Deputy to supervise, mentor radiographers and support staff, contribute to audits and service development, and deputise for the manager when required.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification radiography experience.
• Competence across all aspects of general radiography.
• ILS (Immediate Life Support) trained or willing to undertake training.
• Experience managing and participating in quality assurance programmes.
• Demonstrable evidence of ongoing clinical and professional development.
• Strong IT skills and confidence using radiology and hospital information systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality radiographic imaging across all aspects of general radiography, including theatre work and fluoroscopy.
• Provide support, assistance, and cover within CT and MRI services when required.
• Support the Imaging Manager and Deputy Manager in the effective planning, organisation, and delivery of imaging services.
• Supervise, support, and mentor junior radiographers, students, learners, Radiology Department Assistants (RDAs), and administrative staff.
• Participate in service development initiatives, clinical audits, peer review activities, and quality improvement projects.
• Support the delivery of in-service education and training programmes.
• Act as a Link Practitioner and taking responsibility for a designated area of practice, such as Infection Prevention and Control, Manual Handling, Health & Safety, or other departmental priorities.
• Maintain compliance with quality assurance procedures and professional standards.
• Deputise for the Imaging Manager or Deputy Imaging Manager when required.
