The opportunity:

As a Senior Process Engineer within the RF Assembly manufacturing facility, your focus will be to ensure that our RF products are built efficiently, with state-of-the-art equipment and processes that you will take ownership of. Current programmes will need to be maintained whilst also introducing new products – all to time, cost, and quality objectives. Keeping a finger on the pulse of emerging technologies.

This is a rapidly growing area of the business, and developing process improvements and incorporating novel infrastructure into the production environment will be key to your role.

This job involves working closely with operations, manufacturing, test, and quality teams, as well as building relationships with external suppliers and technical support. You will also collaborate with NPI teams, project engineering, and design support during new project and equipment launches. Your expertise will be vital in solving problems, developing objectives, and working towards business improvements.

You will manage multiple projects and manufacturing tasks, including:

• Ensuring processes and equipment promote a safe working environment following company and legal standards.
• Developing and maintaining manufacturing methods for robust and repeatable systems.
• Interpreting CAD data and design requirements to generate machine programs/processes that meet design intent.
• Managing procurement or upgrades of equipment from selection to installation, commissioning, and maintenance planning.
• Conducting cost/benefit analyses for process or equipment changes.
• Driving departmental improvements to positively impact time, cost, and quality.
• Contributing to process improvement initiatives, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
• Monitoring process and equipment capabilities to reduce product quality issues caused by variation.
• Applying lean manufacturing principles to understand weaknesses, mitigate issues, and improve capability and capacity.
• Producing and maintaining documentation such as specifications, procedures, maintenance schedules, training records, risk assessments, and FMEAs.
• Collaborating across departments and with suppliers.
• Providing support and training to operations staff to ensure effective use of equipment and processes.
• Ensuring new products are introduced efficiently to enable right-first-time manufacturing.
• Liaising with design during prototype and development phases to optimize design for manufacture.

What we're looking for from you:

• Experience or strong working knowledge of RF assembly manufacturing processes such as ATV die attach/soldering, wire/ribbon bonding, gap welding, optical inspection.
• Knowledge of manual and automated environments for these processes is desirable.
