Job summary

Damicor Ltd is helping an established infrastructure contractor find a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of water and utilities projects from procurement to final account. Based at Maple Lodge, Hertfordshire, you will drive profitability, manage risk and support project teams across multiple schemes.

Key responsibilities include budgets, valuations, variations and subcontractor accounts, with NEC contract experience essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering, utilities or water sectors.
• Strong commercial management experience on infrastructure projects.
• Good working knowledge of NEC contracts and contractual administration.
• Experience managing valuations, variations, compensation events and subcontractor accounts.
• Strong understanding of project costs, forecasting, cash flow and commercial reporting.
• Confident negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and cost-value reporting.
• Prepare, submit and negotiate interim valuations and payment applications.
• Manage variations, compensation events, change control and contractual entitlements.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, commercial agreements, payments and final accounts.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities to protect project margins.
• Ensure contract compliance, including NEC contracts.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and delivery teams.
• Provide commercial guidance and support to project teams and junior staff.
• Lead final account negotiations and support resolution of commercial issues.
