Job summary

Brandon James is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a Cambridge-based role with a leading UK cost consultancy. You will manage projects across diverse sectors, take ownership from feasibility to final account, and provide commercial guidance to clients while maintaining strong relationships with design teams and stakeholders.

This role offers varied project exposure, opportunities to mentor junior colleagues and clear progression within a growing consultancy.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related construction discipline
• Strong UK PQS or cost consultancy experience
• MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
• Experience managing projects through both pre- and post-contract stages
• Good understanding of JCT contracts and UK procurement routes
• Experience across commercial, retail, residential, leisure or education projects would be advantageous
• Strong client-facing, reporting and organisational skills
• Able to manage multiple commissions with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Leading projects from feasibility through to completion and final account
• Preparing detailed cost plans, estimates and project budgets
• Managing tender documentation, tender analysis and procurement advice
• Overseeing valuations, variations and change control
• Producing accurate cost reports and financial forecasts
• Advising clients on commercial, contractual and procurement matters
• Attending client, design team and site meetings
• Building long-term relationships with clients and project stakeholders
