Job summary

ABS Commercial Solutions is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a growing portfolio of utilities and infrastructure projects across Middlesbrough, Teesside and wider Teesside area. You will own commercial activities and drive financial performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar.
• Strong commercial management in utilities/infrastructure.
• Experience with project costs, subcontractors, change control.
• Knowledge of NEC or similar contracts.
• Ability to forecast, manage risks and financial performance.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and stakeholder skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Proactive approach to protecting project value.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance of projects from start to finish.
• Own budgets, forecasts, valuations, applications for payment, and reports.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiations and account management.
• Manage change control, variations, compensation events, and entitlements.
• Administer contracts and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts, valuations and final accounts.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients and subcontractors.
• Support negotiations and resolve contractual or financial issues.
• Identify opportunities to protect margins and improve performance.
• Provide guidance to the commercial team.
