Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major project delivering substations and associated buildings in the Peterhead area. The role focuses on commercial management of large subcontract packages and NEC3 Option A compliance, with a hybrid pattern of three days in the Aberdeen office and two days remote.

The assignment runs until 31 December 2026, with potential extension as the project progresses.

Qualifications

• Senior Quantity Surveyor with major construction/infrastructure project experience.
• Experience managing large-value subcontract packages.
• Experience with NEC3 Option A contracts.
• Excellent subcontract administration and commercial management skills.
• Experience with groundworks/civils packages preferred.
• Experience with CEAR software is advantageous.
• Comfortable working from the Aberdeen office three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Manage major subcontract packages from a commercial perspective.
• Commercial management of groundworks package valued around £22m.
• Manage steel/envelope package valued around £13m.
• Subcontract administration under NEC3 Option A.
• Handle valuations, variations, change orders and reporting.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and costs.
• Collaborate with project delivery teams and client.
• Support project from pre-construction to construction.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders.
