Job summary

Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is seeking a seasoned Commercial Manager to lead the commercial strategy for the Sizewell C enabling and earthworks programme. You will manage contracts, costs, and risks, and play a pivotal role in shaping outcomes alongside project leadership and the supply chain.

You will influence senior stakeholders, drive continuous improvement, and mentor the commercial team while upholding safety, sustainability and value delivery across a landmark civil engineering project.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in commercial management within construction or civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement strategies, negotiation, change management and dispute resolution.
• Experience collaborating with project controls, finance, procurement and delivery teams.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and build effective cross-functional relationships.
• A construction-related degree (Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management).
• Passion for developing people and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the project's commercial and delivery strategy.
• Manage contracts, costs, commercial risks and opportunities across the programme.
• Provide commercial advice to senior project leaders and stakeholders.
• Drive value engineering and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Oversee commercial reporting, forecasting, earned value management, and financial performance.
• Support procurement activities and develop robust supply chain relationships.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial team to reach full potential.
• Promote high standards of health, safety, wellbeing, sustainability and environmental performance.
