Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of a diverse portfolio of retail refurbishment and development projects across the UK. You will own cost plans, budgets, and procurement strategies while overseeing contract administration and variations.

The role requires extensive experience in cost management, procurement, and JCT/NEC contracts, with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Cost management and procurement expertise within retail, commercial, or construction contexts.
• Experience administering contracts (JCT/NEC) and delivering financial controls.
• Strong negotiation and commercial awareness with track record in value engineering.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication across internal teams and external parties.
• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline; MRICS advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost plans, budgets, and project estimates.
• Oversee procurement and tender processes, contractor selection and negotiation.
• Administer contracts and manage variations.
• Produce financial reports, forecasts, and cashflow analyses.
• Drive value engineering to maximise project value.
• Manage project risks and ensure commercial compliance.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.
• Support delivery of fast-paced retail refurbishment and development programmes.
