Job summary

Kier Group, within the Kier Places – Building Solutions team, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in the UK (Basingstoke or Southampton). You will manage the commercial resources of refurbishment projects, maximise gross margin, and support a collaborative delivery team on government and blue‑chip clients.

Your day-to-day will include tendering and appointing subcontractors, valuing variations, and managing cash flow.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in a similar commercial role within construction.
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Comfort with IT packages and bespoke systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial resources to maximise gross margin.
• Tender, evaluate and appoint subcontractors and place material orders.
• Negotiate project variations with customers and suppliers.
• Measure and value work for invoicing and cash flow.
• Lead and motivate commercial staff and build relationships.
