Job summary

EKFB is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for the Aylesbury area to support major civil works on the HS2 project. The role involves independent delivery and occasionally leading a small commercial team, with responsibilities across valuations, variations, and contract administration.

You will monitor costs, prepare interim and final valuations, issue payments to subcontractors, and provide contractual advice to management while ensuring compliant administration and timely notices.

Qualifications

• Qualified with a Quantity Surveying degree.
• Enrolled in, or seeking membership of, a professional institution (CICES or RICS).
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor delivering commercial outcomes.
• Able to mentor junior team members and adapt to project needs.
• UK driving license and CSCS card are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and agree variation accounts for main and subcontracts.
• Monitor cost against targets and project programmes.
• Prepare interim and final valuations and sub-contract final accounts.
• Provide contractual advice to management and ensure compliance.
• Identify commercial risks and propose controls; resolve disputes.
