Job summary

Morgan Philips Group is recruiting on behalf of a major Scottish local authority. We are seeking a senior Quantity Surveyor to support long term housing regeneration projects, including new build and modernisation of housing stock.

The role focuses on cost management, procurement, contract administration, payments and financial control across multi-disciplinary construction projects. Hybrid working with on-site presence as required.

Qualifications

• RICS-accredited degree or degree with relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Significant experience in quantity surveying within design and construction.
• Experience using computerised billing systems.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience in housing and/or public sector environments.
• Knowledge of public sector procurement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary budgets, cost plans, and monitor project expenditure.
• Assist in identifying effective procurement and sourcing methods.
• Support project delivery in line with council procedures.
• Prepare contract documentation, specifications, bills of quantities, and contract conditions.
• Participate in tender evaluations and prepare tender reports.
• Carry out site measurements and manage contractor payments.
• Control project costs and agree final accounts and contractual claims.
• Assist the Principal Designer in meeting CDM Regulations 2015 obligations.
