Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Boldon is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities on medium to large North East projects. You will drive profitability, manage the QS team, and liaise with stakeholders to optimise contracts and cash flow.

The role requires MEP/construction project experience, a relevant degree (or be working towards one), and a strong focus on safety and reporting. Competitive salary and flexible benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Experience managing the commercial aspects of medium to large MEP/construction projects.
• GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
• A relevant BSc/degree or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Champion our safety-first culture in all project activities.
• Mentor and guide Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
• Review and interpret contract terms, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with contract aspects and liaise with project teams.
• Manage the agreement process for any changes to contractual obligations.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and manage payment submissions.
• Monitor and forecast costs and revenue throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in the procurement and management of subcontractors.
• Provide accurate reporting on costs, projections, and margins.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the project team to negotiate final account settlements.
• Ensure all necessary records and reports are maintained.
• Support any dispute resolution processes.
