Job summary

NG Bailey is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for our North East region, overseeing projects across the North East with a focus on profitability and financial performance on medium to large projects.

You will implement best commercial practices, mentor QS teams, and manage contract changes, cash flow, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience managing the commercial aspects of medium to large MEP/construction projects.
• GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
• A relevant BSc/degree or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety-first culture on project activities.
• Mentor and guide Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
• Review and interpret contract terms, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with contract aspects and liaise with project teams.
• Manage the agreement process for changes to contractual obligations.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and manage payment submissions.
• Monitor and forecast costs and revenue throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in procurement and management of subcontractors.
• Provide reporting on costs, projections and margins.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and negotiate final accounts.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:
