Summary

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in Plymouth. In this role, you will implement best commercial practices to maintain and maximise the profitability and financial performance of medium to large projects.

This is a permanent staff position with NG Bailey.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring safety is prioritized and visible in all project activities
• Managing and coaching Quantity Surveyors or Assistant Quantity Surveyors where relevant
• Reviewing and interpreting contract terms, identifying risks, and creating mitigation strategies
• Ensuring contract compliance and liaising with project teams on project status
• Managing the agreement process for contract changes
• Overseeing cash flow forecasting and payment processes
• Monitoring and forecasting costs and revenues throughout the project lifecycle
• Assisting with procurement and management of subcontractors
• Providing accurate reports on costs, projections, liabilities, and margins
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction
• Negotiating final account settlements and facilitating sign-offs
• Maintaining records and reports
• Assisting in dispute resolution processes

Qualifications and experience:

• Experience managing the commercial aspects of medium to large MEP projects
• English and Maths GCSE or equivalent
• Relevant BSc degree or equivalent, or willingness to pursue this
