Job summary

Green Folk invites applications for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Building division on a permanent basis in the West Midlands. You will oversee commercial delivery, manage costs, contracts, risk and stakeholder engagement across healthcare, education, commercial and mixed-use projects.

The role offers a competitive salary (£65,000–£88,000), car allowance and comprehensive benefits, with BPSS security clearance required and no visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
• Experience managing final accounts and contract administration.
• Excellent knowledge of measurement, valuation, and standard forms of contract.
• Strong financial reporting, forecasting, and cost management skills.
• Experience mentoring junior surveyors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of major projects or multiple smaller schemes.
• Manage project costs, forecasts, valuations, reporting, and final accounts.
• Procure and manage subcontractor packages, ensuring best value and effective risk control.
• Prepare and manage applications for payment, variations, and contractual claims.
• Work closely with operational teams to identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Drive value engineering initiatives and support strategic commercial decision-making.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
• Mentor and develop junior members of the commercial team.
