Job summary

Green Folk in the West Midlands is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on major projects. You will control costs, forecasts, valuations, and final accounts, and manage subcontractor packages to ensure value and risk control.

You will work across healthcare, education, commercial, public sector and mixed-use developments, building strong client and supply-chain relationships while mentoring junior commercial staff and supporting strategic commercial decisions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a main contractor environment.
  • Strong commercial management experience across construction projects.
  • Experience managing final accounts and contract administration.
  • Excellent knowledge of measurement, valuation, and standard forms of contract.
  • Strong financial reporting, forecasting, and cost management skills.
  • A sound understanding of construction methods, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience in risk management, dispute avoidance, and commercial negotiations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior surveyors.

Senior Quantity Surveyor | Building Construction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and highly respected UK construction business delivering projects across the West Midlands.

Working within the Building division, you will play a key role in the commercial delivery of major construction projects, taking responsibility for financial performance, contract administration, risk management, and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

This position offers the opportunity to work on prestigious projects across sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, public sector and mixed-use developments.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:

To be successful in this role, you will have:
