Job summary

MCS Group is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a growing construction company delivering major new-build projects across the UK and Ireland. The role offers ownership of commercial management and progression into senior commercial leadership.

Key responsibilities include leading procurement, valuations, cost reporting and final accounts, while managing commercial risks and stakeholder relationships across projects in the UK.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or equivalent.
• Experience delivering significant new-build construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of major construction projects from procurement through to completion.
• Lead subcontract procurement, valuations, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Prepare and manage monthly valuations, CVRs and commercial reports.
• Manage variations, contractual entitlement and commercial negotiations.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project life-cycle.
• Work closely with Contracts, Site and Design teams to maintain strong commercial control.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and final settlements.
• Provide regular commercial reporting and updates to senior management.
• Support the successful delivery of projects across the UK.
