Job summary

Emtec Group is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Building Services team in Uddingston, supporting the commercial delivery of MEP projects across Scotland. You will take commercial ownership, manage costs and cash flow, and provide strategic commercial guidance on varied projects.

Ideal candidates have senior QS experience in MEP/building services, strong contract knowledge (SBCC/NEC), and a proactive, collaborative approach to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Relevant Quantity Surveying experience, ideally at Senior level.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes.
• Familiarity with the Construction Act and standard forms of contract including SBCC and NEC
• Strong numerical, communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is preferred.
• Membership of RICS, CIOB or CICES would be advantageous.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial ownership of projects and drive them to a successful outcome.
• Work closely with project teams to manage costs, value, cash flow and commercial performance.
• Manage applications for payment, variations and final accounts.
• Provide practical contractual advice and navigate commercial issues as they arise.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from terms to payments and variations.
• Produce monthly cost and value reports and support project reviews and forecasts.
• Spot commercial risks and opportunities early and manage them.
