Job summary

NG Bailey is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a flagship life sciences facility in Canary Wharf. You will handle contract management, payments, subcontracts, and risk control, ensuring project success.

We require a Quantity Surveyor background, ideally with M&E experience, plus a degree or equivalent. Expect strong stakeholder engagement, compliance, and structured reporting within a large UK contractor setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with an M&E background.
• A degree or HNC level qualification, or significant relevant experience.
• Experience in change and subcontract management.
• Familiarity with JCT form of contract.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety-first practices across all project activities.
• Ensure compliance with legal and company policies and contractual obligations.
• Understand contract terms, manage risks/opportunities, and identify changes.
• Maintain thorough records to maximise contractual entitlements.
• Coordinate with operational teams on risk and contract terms; monitor project status.
• Prepare and submit payment applications with substantiation for variations.
• Manage subcontract accounts through to final account settlement with support.
• Control project progress with the operations team and provide internal reporting.
• Ensure timely project reports, certificates, and payments.
• Negotiate project accounts with clients with support.
