Job summary

NG Bailey in London is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Canary Wharf. You will lead commercial activities on Europe’s largest life sciences facility project and work with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver contracts on time and within budget.

The role emphasizes safety, compliance, change management and sub-contract control, with clear progression through established development programs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with an M&E background.
• A degree or HNC level qualification, or significant relevant experience.
• Experience in change and subcontract management.
• Familiarity with JCT form of contract.

Responsibilities

• Safety first: champion our safety-first message throughout all project activities.
• Compliance: ensure adherence to legal and company policies in line with contractual obligations.
• Contract management: understand project contract terms, manage risks and opportunities, and identify changes in line with NG Bailey’s obligations.
• Record keeping: maintain comprehensive records to maximize contractual entitlements.
• Team communication: collaborate with operational teams on risk and contract terms, keeping a pulse on project status.
• Payment applications: prepare and submit applications to secure payment, substantiating compensation or variations.
• Sub-contract management: manage sub-contract accounts through to final account settlement with support.
• Progress monitoring: control project progress with the operational team, providing accurate internal reporting.
• Project reporting: ensure timely availability of all project reports, applications, certificates, and payments.
• Negotiation: negotiate to settle the project account with the client, with support.
