Job summary

NG Bailey is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a major infrastructure project. You will drive commercial management across the contract, ensuring risk, change and payment processes are handled efficiently.

The role requires strong experience in quantity surveying with an M&E backdrop, and a good grasp of NEC3/4 contracts. We offer progression and a collaborative environment within a leading UK engineering services business.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor with an M&E background.
• Experience of change and subcontract management.
• Good understanding of NEC3/4 contracts (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Uphold safety as a priority and ensure a safety-first culture on the project.
• Ensure compliance with legal and NG Bailey policies and contract terms.
• Interpret contract terms, manage risks and opportunities, and document changes.
• Maintain records to maximise entitlements and support commercial decisions.
• Communicate risk and contract status with operations and project teams.
• Prepare, submit, and pursue payment applications with substantiation.
• Manage sub-contract accounts through to final account settlement with support.
• Monitor progress with the operations team and provide accurate reporting.
• Ensure timely delivery of project reports, certificates, payments and tender allowances.
• Negotiate settlements of the project account with the client with support.

Job description

NG Bailey are currently searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team to work on a major infrastructure project.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that our safety first and foremost message is visible and alive through all activities on the project.


• Ensure the use of, and compliance to, legal and company policies and processes in line with contractual obligations.


• Understand project contract terms, manage risks and opportunities, ensuring they are commercially mitigated or enhanced. Identify any changes in line with NG Bailey’s contractual obligations.


• Maintain all records in order to maximise contractual entitlements.


• Communicate with the operational teams on risk and contract terms and conditions and have a continual understanding of project status.


• Prepare, submit applications, and secure recovery of payment, with substantiation of compensation or variations.


• With support, manage sub-contract accounts through to final account settlement.


• Monitor and control progress with the operational team, providing accurate internal reporting.


• Ensure availability of all project reports, applications, certificates, payments, timeliness and quality of delivery, and tender allowances.


• With support, negotiate to settle the project account with the client.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor with an M&E background.


• Experience of change and subcontract management


• A good understanding of NEC3/4 contracts (desirable)
