Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment LTD is assisting a growing construction consultancy based in Ware, Hertfordshire, in hiring a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial work across multiple sectors. You will manage projects end-to-end from pre-construction to final account and mentor junior team members.

The role is office-based in Ware with strong progression opportunities, private healthcare, a pension scheme and a clear career pathway within a growing consultancy.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in a main contractor or consultancy
• Strong understanding of cost control, procurement, and commercial reporting
• Experience with Design & Build, Traditional and two-stage tender projects
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Responsibilities

• Full commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account
• Managing procurement schedules and chairing procurement meetings
• Preparing detailed scopes of work, pricing schedules and subcontract enquiries
• Raising and administering subcontract orders and CVRs
• Monitoring cost control, forecasts and final spend projections
• Managing variations and change control with clients and subcontractors
• Reviewing subcontractor payment applications and client applications for payment
• Mentoring and supporting Assistant and Intermediate QSs
