Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Southampton seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery across a varied portfolio including residential and education sectors. You will manage cost plans, budgets and forecasts while ensuring profitability and governance.

The role involves mentoring junior staff and supporting client relationships. The successful candidate will be MRICS with proven cost management experience on complex projects, strong NEC/JCT knowledge, and a proactive, client-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Chartered Quantity Surveyor MRICS or equivalent is required.
• Proven experience in quantity surveying and cost management across property and development projects.
• Strong NEC and/or JCT contract knowledge; experience as Employers Agent is desirable.
• Excellent client and stakeholder management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to lead teams, manage priorities and drive successful project outcomes.
• Commercially aware, proactive and solution-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial delivery of projects, achieving cost, quality and programme targets.
• Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and contract administration across diverse Clients.
• Maintain project profitability, financial control and forecasting; governance and KPI support.
• Mentor junior team members and support knowledge sharing and CDP events.
• Support client account growth and identify new business opportunities; build relationships with clients and project teams.
• Contribute to bids, proposals and business development opportunities.
