Job summary

Balfour Beatty VINCI is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for the Commercial team, based on site in Birmingham, West Midlands. You will work on the HS2 project, leading commercial activities and coordinating with project delivery teams.

The role emphasizes ownership, client relations, and ensuring a robust commercial position across subcontracting and contracts. Experience in infrastructure and civil projects is essential, with professional membership in RICS, ICES or CIOB.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
• Experience on a large infrastructure project.
• Experience on a civil engineering project.
• Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead tasks, owning work with broad autonomy.
• Liaise with a Project Manager or Commercial Manager on relevant commercial aspects.
• Protect BBV's commercial position using detailed understanding of contracts, insurance and legal processes.
• Own client relationship management to promote smooth progression of the contract(s).
• Develop and support other commercial team members.
• Work with delivery teams to develop commercial solutions meeting business needs.
• Prepare subcontract invitations to tender and evaluate returns for appointment.

Education

BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent.
