Job summary

Octavius Infrastructure seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to own the commercial performance of key highways projects in Hatfield and beyond. You’ll partner with operations, clients and the supply chain to deliver value, profitability and effective risk management.

You will mentor, lead on commercial reporting and drive change control while embracing a hybrid working pattern (site/office 3 days, home 2 days).

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Senior Quantity Surveyor, preferably in highways/infrastructure.
• Strong commercial understanding and NEC contract knowledge.
• Experience managing subcontractors and producing commercial reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of multiple highways projects.
• Forecast costs, manage change control, and administer contracts.
• Maximise profitability and cash performance across projects.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, payments, variations, and final accounts.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks while pursuing opportunities.
• Produce CVRs, cost reports, and monthly forecasts.
• Build relationships with clients, stakeholders and suppliers.
• Mentor junior members of the commercial team.
