Job summary

VVB Engineering in London is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor and a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team. You will support project delivery by ensuring budgets align with forecasts and maximise profitability through effective cost control and variation management.

The role involves collaboration with project managers, clients, and subcontractors, with a focus on accurate reporting, risk mitigation, and ensuring contractual compliance across major and framework projects.

Qualifications

• Educated to A Level standard or equivalent.
• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Professional memberships (RICS, CIOB or ICES) preferred.
• CSCS card is required.
• Valid full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager to meet commercial and financial targets.
• Build strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
• Provide regular project reporting to the Commercial Manager.
• Accountable for project budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
• Carry out valuations for interim and final payments.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts per contracts.
• Identify, notify, value and agree changes/variations.
• Support tender processes and bid activities.
• Maintain professional working relationships.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Education

A Level or equivalent

Full Degree in Quantity Surveying

RICS/CIOB/ICES membership

CSCS card

Full UK driving licence
