Job summary

Sphere Solutions in Cardiff leads a growing cladding and building envelope specialist team. We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial aspects of cladding projects across the South West, with Cardiff as the base and travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience within a main contractor or specialist subcontractor environment.
• Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and commercial management.
• Experience managing valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Excellent cost control and forecasting skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a wider team.
• A commercially driven and proactive approach.
• A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to projects in the South West.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance of cladding projects.
• Monitor project budgets, costs and forecasts.
• Subcontract procurement and subcontractor management.
• Prepare and agree valuations and applications for payment.
• Manage variations, change control and commercial risks.
• Prepare and agree subcontractor accounts.
• Manage project costs through to final account.
• Identify opportunities to improve project margins.
• Provide commercial support and advice to project teams.
• Produce accurate commercial reports and forecasts.
• Develop strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Visit projects across the South West when required.
