Location: North East England (with travel to project sites as required)
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 per annum, depending on experience

The Role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee commercial activities across multiple sites, manage high-value packages, and mentor junior QS staff. This is a hands-on, client-facing role that demands strong contractual knowledge and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and management of project budgets and cost estimates.
• Oversee the procurement and management of subcontractors.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Manage contract negotiations and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on project financial performance.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior quantity surveying role within civil engineering.
• Extensive knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT).

• Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
