Job summary

Sphere Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on major civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the UK. You will work with project managers, engineers and the commercial team to ensure projects meet financial targets and client expectations.

Essential qualifications include a degree in Quantity Surveying and strong NEC contracts experience, with a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure contracting.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Experience managing projects from procurement through to final account.
• Excellent commercial awareness and financial management skills.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of major civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts and monthly cost reporting.
• Administer NEC contracts, managing compensation events, change control and contractual notices.
• Prepare applications for payment, valuations and final accounts.
• Procure subcontract packages and manage subcontractor accounts through to agreement.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities, implementing effective mitigate strategies.
• Support project teams with commercial advice throughout delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
• Mentor and support junior commercial staff where appropriate.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the commercial function.
