Job summary

Red Sky Personnel Ltd is recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a civil engineering and construction contractor delivering projects on a long-term civils framework at Gatwick Airport.

The role offers ownership of commercial workloads, progression towards Senior QS, and close work with client teams and the supply chain. Airport experience is helpful but not essential; a civils background is required.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3–5 years Quantity Surveying experience.
• Civil engineering, infrastructure or construction background.
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts.
• Good understanding of cost control, valuations and forecasting.
• Commercially aware with strong negotiation skills.
• Confident dealing directly with clients and subcontractors.
• Able to attend and contribute effectively to client meetings.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Quantity Surveying or construction-related qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial and contractual aspects of civil engineering projects.
• Preparing valuations and applications for payment.
• Cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Managing subcontractor accounts, payments and variations.
• Supporting subcontract procurement and package management.
• Managing change and maintaining appropriate commercial records.
• Attending and contributing to client and commercial meetings.
• Working directly with subcontractors to resolve commercial matters.
• Supporting the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
• Working closely with Project Managers and site teams throughout project delivery.
