Job summary

Bethell is seeking a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor based in Manchester to provide contractual expertise across various projects. You will ensure value maximisation, risk mitigation, and cashflow maintenance, while supporting strategic delivery and compliance with commercial procedures.

As a key player, you will manage procurement and implementation of subcontracts, mentor junior Quantity Surveyors, and collaborate with operational teams to meet deadlines. This role promises a rewarding experience within a forward-thinking team.

Qualifications

• CSCS accredited.
• Strong financial and commercial management background.
• Familiarity with insurance requirements (warranties, bonds, PCGs).

Responsibilities

• Provide contractual and commercial expertise across projects.
• Ensure full compliance with HSQE standards on site and in the office.
• Build strong relationships with clients and operational teams.

Skills

Strong commercial awareness with the ability to maximise value and manage cashflow

Experience in cost forecasting, reporting, and contract administration

Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills

Knowledge of JCT, NEC, and ICE contracts

Education

Degree in Quantity Surveying or 10+ years’ experience

Tools

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project, Primavera or similar
