Job summary

Naughton Contracts Limited is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for Hatfield, Hertfordshire, with UK site visits. This contract role offers a competitive day rate or PAYE salary, depending on preference.

You will take commercial responsibility across groundworks, basements, and civil works on residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects, including data centres. Join a dynamic civil engineering company at its Hatfield head office, delivering complex projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Membership of a professional body (e.g. RICS or CIOB) desirable.
• Valid CSCS card is required.
• Full UK driving licence as travel to sites is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee commercial and financial performance of allocated projects from pre-construction to final account.
• Prepare interim valuations and applications for payment to clients.
• Measure and value completed works, variations and instructions.
• Procure, manage and value subcontractor packages and final accounts; prepare CVRs.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risk; review contracts and ensure compliance; conduct site visits.
• Support and mentor junior quantity surveyors within the team.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors to resolve commercial issues.
