Job summary

Henley Chase is seeking an experienced Groundworks Surveyor to join our growing team across residential and commercial projects in Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. You will focus on groundworks measurement, cost control, and subcontractor management.

The role offers a challenging workload with opportunities to manage cost plans, value groundworks packages, and support project teams with commercial and contractual matters while ensuring projects stay commercially viable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Groundworks Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor role.
• Strong understanding of groundworks, civil engineering, and infrastructure packages.
• Experience on residential or mixed-use developments preferred.

Groundworks Surveyor – Minimum 5 Years’ Experience
Location: Hertfordshire & Surrounding Areas

We are currently seeking an experienced Groundworks Surveyor to join our growing team, working across residential and commercial projects in Hertfordshire and nearby regions.

This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong background in groundworks measurement, cost control, and subcontractor management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets, and forecasts


• Measuring and valuing groundworks packages


• Preparing and negotiating subcontractor tenders and accounts


• Managing variations, valuations, and final accounts


• Supporting project teams with commercial and contractual matters


• Ensuring costs are controlled and projects remain commercially viable

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Groundworks Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor role


• Strong understanding of groundworks, civil engineering, and infrastructure packages


• Experience on residential or mixed-use developments preferred


• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Full UK driving licence


• Must be based in or near Hertfordshire
