Job Description

We are recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a high-profile aviation project based in West London.

Job Objectives:

  1. Manage sub-programme contract commercial & cost activities, ensuring the appropriateness and viability of contract commercial information.
  2. Support procurement to achieve best value by developing optimal delivery strategies into procurement plans and contract awards, including incentivization.
  3. Provide advice post-tendering or negotiations to facilitate sound supplier selection decisions.
  4. Manage all post-contract commercial activities, supporting contract changes, instructed work scope changes (PMIs), and award fee recommendations.
  5. Assist contractors in maintaining transparency and data integrity to minimize risks of inaccurate information.
  6. Manage potential liabilities through timely responses to contractor notifications.
  7. Recommend approval of applications for payment and proactively manage contractual issues, escalating disputes as appropriate.
  8. Evaluate cost impacts of alternative delivery strategies, including benchmark assessments, before implementation.
  9. Provide support and guidance to the Cost & Commercial team as needed.
  10. Oversee contract close-out activities in line with client requirements.
  11. Promote the development of effective sub-programme working practices.
  12. Ensure adherence to client processes and sub-programme practices.

Qualifications

Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding and experience in:

  • Tendering support, procurement, target price negotiation, tier 2 procurement, NEC contract management, change management (EWN, PMI), valuations, payments, disallowable costs, and claims.
  • Previous airport project experience is advantageous.
