Key Responsibilities

• Take full commercial responsibility for assigned projects from inception to completion
• Prepare, manage, and track project budgets, cost plans, and cash flows
• Lead subcontract procurement, tender analysis, and contract negotiation
• Manage subcontractor accounts including valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Prepare and agree monthly applications for payment and internal CVRs
• Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement cost mitigation strategies
• Support and guide junior QS team members as required
• Liaise with project teams, clients, consultants, and supply chain to ensure clear commercial communication
• Ensure accurate and timely commercial reporting in line with company procedures
• Manage contractual obligations and change control processes

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with a main contractor in a QS role
• Proven track record of commercially managing projects across various sectors
• Strong understanding of JCT contracts and construction law
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting tools
• Ability to lead meetings and present commercial reports confidently
• Full UK driving licence
