Job summary

Kier Group plc is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Water Framework team on sites in Oxfordshire. You will support commercial management during construction, ensuring delivery and teamwork across the project.

Responsibilities include procurement oversight, valuations, cost reporting, and providing contractual guidance to protect margins and project success. Leadership of junior staff and experience with various contract forms are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Academic qualification in a Construction related degree.
• Full driving license required.
• Experience in a commercial role for a contractor.
• Exposure to MEP projects is desirable.
• Experience with a range of contract forms is expected.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement strategies, subcontract inquiries, and tender reviews.
• Oversee valuations, project cashflows, and turnover forecasts with cost reporting.
• Provide legal and contractual advice on orders, changes and subcontract administration.
• Drive commercial initiatives and margin improvement plans.
• Lead and support junior staff to meet workload targets and deadlines.

Job description

We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Water Framework team based on our Horton-Cum-Studley WTW and Thame WTW sites in Oxfordshire., As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within our commercial team on an exciting Water Framework project. You'll play a key role in assisting with the commercial management during the construction phase, ensuring successful delivery while working collaboratively with the wider team., As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in delivering commercial excellence on Water Framework projects. Your day to day will include:

• Ensuring compliance with procurement strategies, including managing subcontract inquiries and tender reviews
• Managing valuations, project cashflows, and turnover forecasts with monthly cost reports
• Providing legal and contractual advice on orders, changes, and subcontractor administration
• Driving commercial initiatives and producing margin improvement plans to maximize opportunities
• Leading and supporting junior staff, ensuring workload targets and deadlines are successfully met
• You hold a relevant academic qualification in a Construction related degree
• You hold a Full driving licence
• You have prior experience working in a commercial role for a contractor, ideally with MEP exposure
• You have experience working with a variety of contract forms
• You have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
