Job summary

Randstad CPE is partnering with a regional office of a Tier 1 contractor to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor. The role follows several new contract awards and opportunities to bid across schemes from 20 to 120 million on JCT and NEC forms, with education, health and blue light projects.

You will review programmes and cost plans at the 2nd stage, collaborate with supply chain to price the scope, and convert into subcontract orders.

Responsibilities

• Review and check programmes and cost plans at 2nd stage, and then work with supply chain to develop detailed prices for the scope of agreed works and convert into subcontract orders.
• On larger schemes, be part of a commercial team to manage, supervise and develop staff, then take the package onto site, lead pre-start meetings and manage the package on site.
• Oversee payments, valuations, variation accounts, administer contracts correctly, forecast, and prepare CVR for presentation to the Regional Commercial Directors.

Job description

We are working with the regional office of a Tier 1 contractor - one of the best in the business - who need a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team after a number of new contract awards and opportunities to bid.

They work on schemes from 20 to 120 million on both JCT and NEC forms of contract, a majority of which are framework awards in the education, MOD, MOJ, health, pharma, student and care marketplaces.

They have recently been awarded several blue light schemes which are moving to site late 2026 and also have a number of high profile opportunities to bid for around the M4 corridor.

Your role is to work initially at 2nd stages to review and check programmes and cost plans and then work with supply chain to work up detailed prices for the scope of agreed works and then convert into subcontract orders. You will on the larger schemes have a commercial team to manage, supervise and develop including experienced Project level people as well as assistant and trainee level people and with the team you will then be responsible for taking onto site, pre start meetings and then managing and supervising the package on site. Oversight of payments, valuations, variation accounts, administering contracts correctly, forecasting and CVR preparation and presentation to Regional Commercial Directors form part of the duties.

They have experienced commercial teams to integrate into and the commercial function works seamlessly with both precon and the delivery teams to build some really interesting schemes.
