We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure project based at Manchester Airport, focused on enhancing the existing railway station and increasing rail capacity.
The project involves significant civil engineering and rail works, including station remodelling, platform extensions and track layout modifications to accommodate additional and longer trains. With the project progressing from initial civils activities, including piling, into more rail-specific works, this is an excellent opportunity to join a major infrastructure scheme at an exciting stage of delivery.
Working closely with the Managing Quantity Surveyor and the wider commercial team, you will play a key role in managing project costs, forecasting and subcontract commercial activities, while providing support and guidance to the wider team.
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong commercial background within civil engineering, rail or major infrastructure projects, ideally gained working for a Tier 1 contractor.
You will be commercially astute, proactive and comfortable managing your own workload, with the ability to adapt quickly to established processes and procedures.
You will join an established commercial team comprising a Managing Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, two Assistant Quantity Surveyors and a Regional Commercial Manager.
The role offers the opportunity to work on a significant airport rail infrastructure scheme, contributing to the delivery of complex civil engineering and railway works.
The position is based at Manchester Airport, with on-site parking and convenient access to the station. The standard working arrangement is four days on site and one day working from home, subject to any formally agreed flexible working arrangements.
