Job summary

Gearing Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering major water and wastewater projects.

You will manage commercial delivery from tender through final account, ensure NEC contract compliance, and mentor junior surveyors while working on MEICA, M&E and civil engineering schemes with hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, utilities, infrastructure, or engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
• Good commercial awareness and cost management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
• Experience within the water industry is advantageous but not essential

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial delivery of projects from contract award through to final account
• Prepare and agree valuations, variations, and measurements
• Procure and manage subcontract packages, including tender enquiries and negotiations
• Monitor project costs, forecasts, cash flow, and commercial performance
• Identify and manage commercial risks, opportunities, and change control
• Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and commercial reporting
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams
• Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and commercial procedures
• Mentor and support Assistant and Quantity Surveyors within the commercial team
