Job summary

Linear Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial performance on major civil engineering and infrastructure projects in the UK. You will manage budgets, CVRs, and contracts while guiding junior team members and coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and site teams.

You will bring strong NEC/IChemE contract knowledge, excellent numeracy, and a proactive approach to risk and opportunity management, with a focus on profitability and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Quantity Surveying role within construction or civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and IChemE forms of contract and construction law.
• Experience in subcontract procurement, commercial management and contract administration.
• Demonstrable experience in CVRs, forecasting, cost control and financial reporting.
• Excellent numerical, communication and organisational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor, working across major infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of project commercial performance, driving profitability, managing contractual risk and supporting the successful delivery of projects. You'll work closely with project teams, clients and subcontractors within a business offering long-term secured work and genuine career progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts and cash flow.

Desirable:

HND/degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, RICS membership or working towards, CSCS card, estimating experience and a background with a direct delivery contractor.
