Job summary

Linear Recruitment is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor. You will take a senior role in commercial delivery on major water, transport, energy and built environment projects across the UK.

You will manage project costs, forecasts, and cash flow, lead subcontract procurement and contract administration (NEC/IChemE), mentor junior staff, and build client and supply chain relationships while identifying commercial opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction/civil engineering projects.
• Strong commercial management and subcontract procurement experience.
• Experience with NEC and IChemE contracts.
• Knowledge of construction law.
• Experience with forecasting and CVRs.

Join a leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure business and play a key role in the commercial success of major projects.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established contractor with 40+ years of industry experience and a strong pipeline of long-term infrastructure work across water, transport, energy and the built environment.

The Role

You’ll take a lead role in managing the commercial performance of projects, working closely with project teams, clients and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing project costs, forecasts, cash flow and monthly CVRs
• Leading subcontract procurement, negotiation and account management
• Managing applications for payment through to final account
• Managing NEC and IChemE contracts
• Identifying commercial opportunities and managing riskProviding commercial advice to project and site teams
• Building strong client and supply chain relationships
• Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff

About You

You’ll have:

• Previous construction/civil engineering experience
• Strong commercial management and subcontract procurement experience
• Experience with NEC and/or IChemE contracts
• Knowledge of construction law
• Experience with forecasting, cost analysis and CVRs
• Strong numerical, analytical and communication skills
• Excellent organisation and time management
• RICS membership/working towards, a relevant HND/degree and CSCS are desirable.
