Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee commercial and contractual aspects within the water sector in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on delivering accurate financial control, risk management, and timely valuation for complex projects.

You will draft contractual correspondence, negotiate terms with supply chain partners, and collaborate with project teams to drive commercially sound outcomes across varying procurement routes.

Qualifications

• RICS accredited Degree required.
• Quantity surveying experience in the construction industry.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen.
• Experience drafting effective contractual correspondence.
• Proven negotiating and teamwork skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Legal, contractual, and construction knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Managing and issuing accurate, timely, and compliant notices and correspondence.
• Identifying contractual and commercial risks and opportunities.
• Preparing and agreeing on applications for payment or assessing and preparing payment certificates.
• Maintaining registers of variations, delays, extension times, and claims.
• Implementing the company's commercial policies and procedures consistently.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly progress valuations and claims for completed work.
• Interfacing with customer's commercial and project teams.
• Producing pre-contract tender negotiations and reports where necessary.
• Producing monthly cost reports, forecasts, and contract leader reports.
• Advising on value management and risk management.
• Preparing supply chain enquiries, negotiating, administering, and finalising supply chain contracts.
• Planning and implementing change management and cost control.
