Salary: £100,000+ per annum, depending on experience

Package: £10,000 flexible allowance + fuel card + 3% employer pension

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00

Working arrangement: Office-based, no hybrid working

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager / Managing Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for the commercial and financial performance of a construction division with an annual turnover of approximately £40 million. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially driven professional with a strong background in construction, contract management, financial reporting and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of five Quantity Surveyors.
• Take overall responsibility for the commercial and financial performance of the division.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise profitability and improve margins.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting, forecasting, cost control and profit projections.
• Identify and manage variations, specification changes and additional revenue opportunities.
• Monitor applications, valuations, invoicing, accrued income and cash collection.
• Manage contractual risks, commercial disputes and complex contract issues.
• Develop supply chain agreements and maximise subcontract procurement savings.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, payment processes and contractual compliance.
• Work closely with operational teams, estimating departments and senior management.
• Attend tender adjudication meetings and provide commercial input on costs, risks and opportunities.
• Ensure accurate cost reporting, effective contract administration and robust commercial controls.

Requirements

• Salary of £100,000+ per annum, depending on experience and suitability.
