Job description

Our client, an exceptional UK homebuilder leading the industry in quality, service, and sustainability, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in South London.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Managing all commercial and cost aspects of large-scale residential developments.
  2. Overseeing budgets, contracts, and valuations to ensure financial targets are met.
  3. Controlling costs across all trades and ensuring live cost certainty.
  4. Procuring and managing subcontractors, goods, and materials in line with company policies.
  5. Leading value engineering initiatives to ensure efficiency without compromising quality.
  6. Mentoring and developing junior team members to reach their full potential.
  7. Keeping up to date with the latest construction methods, regulations, and industry best practices.
  8. Attending project meetings and presenting commercial updates to senior management.
Ideal Candidate:
  1. Holds a degree in Quantity Surveying (HND or higher) and a valid CSCS card.
  2. Has at least five years' experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the residential construction sector.
  3. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  4. Excellent understanding of market conditions, construction regulations, and NHBC requirements.
  5. Highly numerate with strong attention to detail, able to analyse and present data accurately.
  6. Strong IT skills, including experience with project management, payment, and valuation software.
  7. A proactive and methodical approach, capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
