Job summary

Sphere Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major healthcare construction project in RCT, Wales. This long-term contract offers leadership in financial and contractual management within a live healthcare environment.

You will lead commercial management from procurement through final account, manage sub-contract packages and oversee budgets, cost reporting and cash flow. Healthcare project experience is highly advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Strong commercial and contractual management experience.
• Healthcare, hospital or complex construction project experience is advantageous.
• Excellent knowledge of cost control, procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS to take a leading role in the financial and contractual management of a significant project within a live healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the commercial and contractual management of the project from procurement through to final account.
• Manage sub-contract packages.
• Manage project budgets, cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow.
• Prepare, review and negotiate variations, valuations and interim payments.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, payments and final account negotiations.
• Identify and manage commercial risks, opportunities and contractual issues.
• Work closely with the project management and delivery teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Strong commercial and contractual management experience.
• Previous experience working on healthcare, hospital or complex construction projects would be highly advantageous.
• Excellent knowledge of cost control, procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the wider project team.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

Contract Details:

• Duration: Minimum 24 months, with potential for extension-temp to perm also available.
• Start: ASAP.
