Abatec Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support Welsh Water projects across South Wales. The role involves taking commercial responsibility for a portfolio, managing contracts, and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships from tender through to final accounts.
The successful candidate will have a strong civil engineering/utility background, NEC contract knowledge and proven experience delivering costed projects within a contractor environment.
Abatec are working with an established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor who are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a growing portfolio of work for Welsh Water across South Wales.
The business has a strong track record delivering civil engineering and utility projects and has secured a significant pipeline of work as part of the Welsh Water AMP8 programme.
The role will focus on a varied portfolio of Welsh Water projects, covering Major Civils, reactive works, developer services and associated water infrastructure.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is ready to take the next step into a Senior QS position, taking greater ownership of projects, client relationships and commercial performance.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of Welsh Water projects, working closely with the operational team, Welsh Water and the supply chain to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably. You will have a strong client-facing role, building relationships with Welsh Water stakeholders and supporting the commercial management of projects from tender through to final account.
Previous Welsh Water experience would be highly relevant, particularly across Major Civils, reactive works, developer services or wider AMP delivery.
We will also consider candidates with strong commercial experience gained on utility frameworks across water, gas or other infrastructure sectors, provided you have a solid understanding of NEC contracts and contractor-side commercial management.
